So you want to build a website huh? Well it's not as hard as you think. And the beauty of it is that you can even start with a high class site by using a number of tools.
Mr Beach Bum has done some research for you and is willing to share with you, free of charge, information about his favorite tools for building websites that garner attention and provide even the novice webmaster with a professional looking website that produces results for your online business!
That said, I am not going to tell you that you don't have to learn html. Some will tell you that and then they'll sell you a "turnkey" solution that "does everything for you". Well what happens when Google or some other affiliate changes their code and your "turnkey" solution doesn't function properly anymore?
So my most valuable advice on this is do what you can to at least learn some basic html. With that said, it isn't hard. And the Mr Beach Bum forum is yet another tool at your disposal. Need some basic html help? Ask a question in the forum and let the community assist you. That's what we're all here for.
Now let's get down to business...your online business!
By now you should have your domain name, a good idea as to what your site is about and you should also have selected your web host provider. If you do not have all three of those yet, check out the getting started guide.
Assuming you have all those steps covered, your next big step is to decide how you will build your site, not to mention maintain it. You may need a good piece of software. Here are some possible solutions for you:
I will tell you, hands-down, that I have found Sitespinner to be very easy to use and powerful enough to grow with your abilities. They even have a free trial that is a full version, good for 15 days so that you can build your site and see if you like the software enough to pay for it. You can get the trial version here. What is great is that it is not expensive either!
I have also used Cool Page, but it has not had a recently updated version in a few years so I am less inclined to recommend that product anymore. Still, it was affordable and pretty easy to use as well, and I have seen some nice sites designed using that tool.
Of course, like anything in life, you can find more expensive tools that have even more power. An example being Adobe Dreamweaver or MS Frontpage. If you have the budget, feel free to go that route. This is all up to what you feel comfortable with so try out a few and see what you like most.
Next step is to get yourself a winning site design. Now this is not a big deal if you are pretty confident that you can make a site that can really attract people and make them feel welcome, etc. But if you have any reservations about this, or just want a professionally designed site within your budget (however high or low your budget may be) then I recommend the following site:
They have a wide selection that suits any budget. And even if you don't purchase a template now, I recommend that you to still go to that site and sign up for their FREE affiliate program. You might as well make some money for yourself, right?
All set now?
Good. Well now you have the basic things you need to get started. The affiliate guide is going to help you put all of this together and structure your site in a way that allows you to share your insight with the world, and make some money at the same time! You see, there is an affiliate program that will match up nicely to just about any site content you can imagine. So even if your niche is pretty, well, niched, I am sure the next section will help you figure out which affiliate programs will work best for you. If you are new to affiliate programs, don't worry. We'll cover a lot of the basics and help you get up and running quickly.
There is one thing I want to mention:
In the future, once you have your site all set up, I hope you'll agree to do a link exchange with me. Now how many of those "get rich quick" sites out there are willing to share a link with you? Especially if you haven't even started your site yet, or have no real traffic to offer them in return? Well I can tell you from experience, not very many. You see, they want you to buy their ebook. Some of those ebooks are worth it, and some are not! So how do you tell which is which? Unfortunately you lose money. I have lost money. I have also made money. In the next resource guide, I will be sharing with you the sites/programs that I have made money from. And if I haven't made money yet I have at least done enough research to ensure that I will, or you would not find them on this site.
Now I may someday put all of this into my own ebook, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now I think I'll do just fine, sitting on my favorite beach, letting the internet work for me!
As for you, aspiring Beach Bum, your next step in the process is to get your own affiliates for your website... Don't stop now, this is the MOST IMPORTANT PART of my program!
